How to Install WordPress
This short extract from WordPress For Internet Marketers will cover how to install WordPress on your own domain with your own web host.There are a number of reasons that you should use WordPress for your site creation but here are just a few:
It is easy to install and use;
There is no complicated code to learn
The WordPress community is massive with developers creating free addons in theform of plugins and themes every day

It is free to use!
Before you install WordPress
 
You will need to get a domain name. I like to buy my domain names from GoDaddy  or Namecheap but check around you might find another registrar that you like better. When I buy my domains I like to get a coupon for the domain registrar. A couple ofbucks does not make much difference when you have 1 or two names but when youhave over 400 it all adds up!!! Try these sites for coupons FatWallet, Coupon Cache, Couponok or Webmaster Desk.
 
Before you buy your domain name you should do some research. You need adomain name that is SEO friendly or keyword rich.You can use the free tool at Webconfs to choose a domain name that might be suitable for your site. Simply type in a keyword that describes your niche and choose
the extension that you would like to use. It is preferable to choose a “com” extension.Click “
submit
” and results will be
returned suggesting domain names for your site.Now sometimes theWebconfs 
site is “down” so here are a few more places to look
for keyword rich domain names Domain Tools and Name Tumbler.

Once you have found the domain name that you would like to use go to GoDaddy,  Namecheap or your registrar of choice and order the domain. At the checkout youcan usually apply the coupon code that you obtained from the coupon site. Click to
“
Update Cart
” and you can pay for your domain name.
 
It is best to have your domain registrar and web hosting separate. I choose to useGoDaddy as my domain registrar and Hostgator as my web host. If you don't wish to use Hostgator use a web host that is WordPress friendly like Blue Host.
 
When you sign up for hosting your web host will give you the names of yournameservers. There are usually two names but there might be four. It will looksomething like this:
 
ns315.hostgator.com
 
ns316 hostgator.com
 
Your web host will also provide you with a username and password for your hostingaccount. Write all this information down somewhere safe for future reference.
 
If you are not sure about anything ask your web host by submitting a support ticket attheir help desk.
 
Now we need to tell our newly purchased domain name that our web site will beliving with our web host.
 
To do this we go to our domain registrar. I am using GoDaddy so to change this information (which is called changing your DNS settings) I would log into myGoDaddy 
Account by clicking on the “
My Account
” link as shown in the screenshot
below.

If you are using GoDaddy then choose
My Products
from the left hand menu and
Domains
from the drop down listWhen you click on Domains all the domains that you have registered with theregistrar will displayThen you just need to tick the box for the domain that you want to change the DNSon
You will see a row of icons. Just click on the icon that says “
Nameservers
” and you
will be taken to the next screen
