Is Africa in a state of Crisis?
Africa is the poorest and least industrialized continent inhabited by humans. Thisis due to the many issues that they have to face. Africa is in a pretty high state of crisispolitically, economically, and socially. From economy to monarchies, Africa has a lot of issues that it has to deal with and it is going to take a long time before Africa begins torise as a whole continent.Africa is still a young continent since most of its countries gained independencefrom European countries just recently. Africa is relatively new to the concept of democracy and how to get its people’s voice out which in a major way is hurting Africa. In some countries monarchies are popping up and the leaders aren’t very nice either.Take King Abdullah from Saudi Arabia for example, he rakes in the money while hiscountry literally dies of starvation. Since Africa is new to politics, most of the peopledon’t know about what is going on in their countries and what they can do to fix it likevoting. Since they can’t vote, they are pretty much doomed because they have to followthe laws that the government makes. The government doesn’t enforce the laws verywell either; most of the government is corrupt. The people also can’t do anything aboutit because they don’t have any say. Countries in Africa are also vulnerable to other countries because they have weak alliances and weak links with other countries. Acountry from Europe can easily take over a country in Africa because Europeancountries have many strong alliances and Africa has weak alliances. Like in many other regions, politics is one of the major reasons that Africa is in crisis.Africa is very rich in natural resources such as diamond, gold, and oil but

somehow it still suffers from a poor economy. Most of why this happened is that Europetook almost all of the natural resources and left Africa with very little which made Africathe poorest inhabited continent in the world. Africa’s main income is from oil andminerals but only a tiny fraction of people are employed in that area. Africans work atdiamond mines or coal mines for most of the day but they get the same amount of money in one week as we get in one hour while most of the profits go to thegovernment. Africa is also the least industrialized continent in the world. It’s shockingto hear this because a lot of cheap labor is available in Africa. Not many developedcountries are looking to invest in Africa either due to the poor infrastructure andelectricity issues. Banks in Africa are corrupt and not trustworthy because they can runoff with a large amount of money so most of the African government relies oninternational banks. Since there are very few trustable banks, you can’t take a loan or put your money in a savings file, you have to come up with a solution yourself.Social problems are also a major defect in Africa. Some of Africa’s countries aregoing through power struggles and having civil wars between the different ethnic groupsfound in that area. Some people are migrating from country to country in Africabecause they are refugees and none of the country will give them homes. Africa hashuge health issues from AIDS to diarrhea. Diarrhea is the number one killer of kids inAfrica and simple steps such as clean water can help fix that. AIDS on the other hand isa difficult situation; the only way to prevent AIDS is to use protection but most of thepeople don’t know that. Malaria is also a big disease in Africa and something as simpleas bed nets can reduce it by half. Genocide is also a problem in rural Africa. Peopleget killed for resisting the government or anything like that. Some people also get killed

for no reason and most of the time it’s parents who get killed so the kids have to fend for themselves. Social problems also lie within political and economical problems in Africa. All of the problems have to be solved for Africa to be a better place to live in.Just solving one problem isn’t enough for a huge continent like Africa; all of the issuesneed to be solved. Africa is in a high extent of crisis due to many issues like corruptpolitics, weak economics and horrible social troubles. If Africa was to catch up to therest of the world, there would be a great reduction in poverty and diseases. It justmakes people feel better that most of the world is living in good standards like theyshould be.
