Fortunately,a new team of FinancialInclusion Champions isnow in post for the Eastand South Midlands toensure that those wantingto do work on FinancialInclusion are fullysupported.The Financial InclusionChampion initiative is anational Department forWork and Pensionsfunded scheme that is partof the Government’sFinancial Inclusion ActionPlan for 2008-2011. 18regional teams areemployed across England,Wales and Scotland. Theteam for the East andSouth Midlands coversNottinghamshire,Derbyshire,Northamptonshire,Lincolnshire and parts ofWarwickshire and employsthree workers that arebased with the debt advicecharity Leicester MoneyAdvice.The team’s remit is toensure that everyone hasaccess to five keyfinancial services:

An appropriate bankaccount
Affordable andresponsible credit
Basic Home
Insurance
Savings facilities;The ExcellenceFramework, Inspire East’son-line toolkit that definesexcellence in sustainablecommunities, has passedthe 1,000 registered usersmark! To celebrate, theyare collecting views onfurther developing theExcellence Framework.The ExcellenceFramework has beencreated by Inspire Eastwith support from theBuilding ResearchEstablishment and SalletConsulting Ltd. The toolkithas been adopted by theEast of EnglandDevelopment Agency.
