In the month of March, the amazing Maddie Spinks pursued avariety of efforts ranging from education programs for residents tocommunity enrichment opportunities for the community at large – herdevotion to the Quad area at NC State (Berry, Becton, and BagwellHalls) could be clearly seen through these actions, and her outstandingperformance as a Resident Advisor (RA) should be commended. InMarch, Maddie worked on a program supporting the Invisible Childrenmovement with another RA, took special care of her residents withsocial programs, and established a great new tradition of a student-runlibrary in the Quad area. Let's face it, Maddie rocked the month of March- keep reading to find out how! Towards the end of the month of March (I know, the chronology isa little backwards – I'm an engineering major so give me a break!),Maddie worked with fellow RA Kate Sullivan in organizing a studentinitiative of involvement with the Invisible Children organization'skickoff for it's April program of “The Rescue.” Maddie completedfunding requests through the Quad Area Hall Council (QUAC) and theNC State InterResidence Council (IRC) in order to purchase programpackages for twenty Quad residents who would like to participate. Itwas an immense undertaking, but Maddie handled the funding requestmagnificently and received full funding for the program. She and Kateare looking forward to the month of April for the kickoff of The Rescue.Maddie also presented her residents with a series of social andeducational programs to spurn their involvement in the Quadcommunity.
