This does not include thedisk space required for Microsoft VC8 redistributable installation.*** You can download the most current version of Internet Explorer at thefollowing URL: http://download.microsoft.com.Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 is required for Norton Save and Restore in NortonSystemWorks Premier Edition.- To install .NET Framework 2.0, open the Support\DotNet folder, which is on theCD or in the extracted setup package (ESD), which is downloaded from the Web.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Installation--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Before you install any major application, including Norton SystemWorks, you shouldback up all of the data on your computer.Individual products or features must be installed through the Norton SystemWorksinstallation only.If you have to install from a local drive, you must copy the entire contents ofthe CD to the root of your hard drive. Otherwise, you may encounter installationproblems.During installation, you can specify the location of the custom folder into whichthe product will be installed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------Order of installation for Symantec products--------------------------------------------------------------------------------The following products integrate with one another and use shared components:
 
Norton AntiVirusNorton ConfidentialNorton Internet SecurityNorton Personal FirewallNorton SystemWorksIf you need to install two or more of these products from different productrelease years, you should install them in chronological order. For example,you should first install Norton SystemWorks 2008, and then install Norton InternetSecurity 2009.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Saving an MSI log file to troubleshoot installation and uninstallation issues--------------------------------------------------------------------------------If Norton SystemWorks fails to install, Symantec recommends that you save theNorton SystemWorks log file that is generated during the installation of NortonSystemWorks. This will help the Symantec Support Team resolve your issue faster.After you uninstall Norton SystemWorks, there should be two Norton SystemWorkslog files. The installation log file should show an earlier date and time and asmaller KB size. The uninstallation log file should show a later date and timeand a larger KB size.To locate these log files1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run.2. Type the following command: %temp%3. Click OK.4. In the Windows temporary folder, find a file that is named as follows:Norton SystemWorks (Date) (Time).log--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Adding or removing any feature of Norton SystemWorks--------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.2. Click Norton SystemWorks (Symantec Corporation).3. Click Change.4. In the Set-up box, click Modify.5. Check or uncheck any features to add or remove the features, respectively,and then click Next.6. Click Finish.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Restoring your disk drive from the boot menu--------------------------------------------------------------------------------If you use Norton AntiVirus, click LiveUpdate and make sure that your antivirussoftware is up to date. If you use other antivirus protection, see theinstructionsthat came with that program.
