Biography

Sarah Asher Geronimo was born toDelfin Geronimo, a retiredPLDT employee, and Divina, who used to runa beauty parlor in their house atSta. Cruz, Manila. Sarah is the thirdof four children with siblings JohnaRizzie, Sunshine Grace, and EzekielGabriel.

Early years

Geronimo's first performance on stagewas at a mall show when she was twoyears of age. Sarah sang "Pasko NaNaman" with Pinky Marquez and RichardReynoso. She became part of achildren's show,Pen-pen de Sarapen,from 1992 through 1994,Ang TVfrom1995 through 1996, and NEXT from 1996through 1997. She was one of theperformers during the1995 visitofPope John Paul II.

, was the singingcontest where she joined on March 1,2003, at the age of 14. Geronimoemerged as the grand prize winner ofthe competition with her rendition ofthe songs "To Love You More" and "ToMother with Love." She won

1 millionand a managerial contract at VivaArtist Agency.

Television career

In 2004, Geronimo signed a contractwithABS-CBN, where she had her firstproject in acting through starring ina drama series entitled Sarah, TheTeen Princess. She also became amainstay in a musical variety show,ASAP.

In 2005, Geronimo sang thetheme of a Star Cinema movie, CanThis Be Love. She also became part ofthe fourth season of the weekly teen-oriented program, SCQ Reload, KiligAko. In summer of 2005, Sarahreunited with her fellow championsfor a US Tour of Pinoy Idols: ReturnOf The Champions, which was staged inselected cities in the U.S. for atwo-month period.In 2006, she lead the cast of one ofABS-CBN's primetime soap opera,Bituing Walang Ningning. Here, shestarred as an aspiring singer named,Dorina Pineda.

She alsotook the lead role in ABS-CBN'sprimetime dramaPangarap Na Bituin opposite Jericho Rosales, along withMaja Salvador,Rica Peralejoand, Nikki Gilas "The Jewel Sisters".Sarah will protray the role of SanCai in the most popular Taiwanovelahit in the series of Meteor Garden tomake it Philippine Adaptation.

Film career

Last July 30, 2008, her debut movieunderStar CinemaandViva Filmswith Filipino actorJohn Lloyd Cruz entitledA Very Special Lovewasreleased. She also recorded her ownversion of the song "A Very SpecialLove" for the movie which was thenincluded in the repackaged edition ofTaking Flight.

In February 2009,Geronimo will also star her follow-upmovie with John Lloyd Cruz, dubbedYou Changed My Life(A Very SpecialLove Sequel), after the hit-moviesuccess of A Very Special Love. Theystarted taping on November 2008 andaiming to wrap it on February 25 ofthe following year. It will be StarCinema's Valentine offering for2009.It had reached 250 million totaltheatrical earnings plus making Sarahand John Lloyd the All-Time Box-Office King and Queen beating the twoHarry Potter movies and Spiderman 2.

Music career

In September 2003, Geronimo releasedher debut album entitled "Popstar: ADream Come True". She also staged herfirst solo concert at the MusicMuseum in the same year. The albumproduced singles such as "Forever'sNot Enough", "To Love You More" as well as "Sa Iyo".In November 2004,Geronimo released her second albumentitledSweet Sixteen, with "How Could You Say You Love Me" as thefirst single. Sarah, along with otherreality star search winnersRachelleAnn Go, andErik Santosstaged the Night of the Champions concert at theAraneta Coliseum, which also went ona tour in US. She also played in thefantasy movie, Lastikman of VIVAFilms. Sarah performed her firstmajor solo concert, "The Other Side"at the Araneta Coliseum. Viva Recordsreleased a live DVD album of thefilmed tour in Araneta Coliseum namedas "The Other Side: Live Album", andachieved platinum.Her third studio album entitled"Becoming" was released in August2006, and reached Platinum. The albumyielded three singles: "I StillBelieve In Loving You", "Carry MyLove" and "Iingatan Ko Ang Pag-ibigMo".

Geronimo continued to performglobally as she staged concerts inTaiwan, Canada, Alaska, and Dubai.She also held "The Other Side USTour" in San Diego, Hanford, LosAngeles, San Francisco, Chicago,Honolulu, Maui, Washington DC andAtlantic City.

While in the UnitedStates in November 18, 2006, she waschosen byManny Pacquiaoto sing the

Philippine national anthemLupangHinirangprior to his fight againstMexico'sErik Moralesat theThomas and Mack Centerin Las Vegas.She staged her second major soloconcert on July 14, 2007 at theAraneta Coliseum entitled SarahGeronimo In Motion.

Shortly after staging her second solomajor concert, she released herfourth studio album entitled TakingFlight that achieved Platinum. TakingFlight's includes singles like "I'llBe Alright" and "Ikaw".

In early 2008, Sarah once againreunited with Erik Santos, RachelleAnn Go and Christian Bautista in aValentine's concert at the AranetaColiseum, entitled "OL4LUV".
