After four successful years, the DTM approaches a
very special season. In addition to Mercedes-Benz
and Opel, now also Audi commits itself on a works
manufacturer basis. Adding to this is the strongest
driver-line up ever and new, four-door DTM race
cars – these ingredients promise more excitement
than ever before.
That all three marques bring their bestsellers to the grid in 2004 is an even clearer display of loyalty to
the DTM than it was the case previously with the Coupés. Sixteen of the 21 cars, competing in the DTM,
were newly developed over the winter and, are technically, of the latest specification. In combination with
five of last year’s cars and cockpits filled with top-flight drivers results in a unique starter field that is
unrivalled in Europe and possibly even the world. In which other racing series are there more than a dozen
drivers capable of winning?
The DTM has won another popular driver in Heinz-Harald Frentzen. Names such as Frank Biela and Tom Kristensen also guarantee extra spice, and obviously, record breaking DTM champion Bernd Schneider competes again.
In its fifth year, the DTM again offers a family friendly event concept. The value for money is unique.
Alongside high-calibre motorsport, the race weekend offers – among other things such as pop concerts
on race Sunday – top entertainment for young and old alike. In this way, DTM race weekends become an
unforgettable experience. The reception from families and, in particular from the young people shows that
we are on the right path with the event concept.
