Today, agriculture is witnessing
many challenges, which are multi-
dimensional, ranging from technology to
ethics to equity. These challenges will
place unparalleled demands on the
capabilities of tomorrow’s agricultural
entrepreneurs. We are at the crossroads
and need to have “out-of-the-box”
thinking strategies to meet
challenging times. We need policies that
contribute to the farmer’s position in the
market and vis-à-vis the food chain so
that farmers can meet the higher
standards of international market and
competitiveness, and further develop the
quality of the produce using improved
technology. We need to start enterprising
and exporting our product to other
markets across the globe. These new
initiatives need a concerted effort from
“Greatness is not a function of circumstance. Greatness, it turns out, is largely a matter of conscious choice, and discipline”
