If a player does notget his 6 plays s/he will start the next game and will play at least 12 plays in the second game.
5th QUARTER
Many teams in the league choose to play a 5th quarter. Barre will not play 5th quarters. Thecoaches and parents feel it is demeaning to the players. All players deserve to get field timeduring a game.

INCLEMENT WEATHER
All practices will take place at the Barre City Elementary School fields. We will have practice inthe rain. INJURIES
The BYSA Youth Football Program will follow the NVYFL protocol for injured players duringgames and at practices.
Players are instructed to stay down on the field if they are injured. They should not attemptto get off the field of play on their own.
Two coaches should go out to the injured player.
Coaches will do a preliminary evaluation of the injured player. Using conservative judgment, the EMT will be called out to the field if necessary. If any bone/joint injury is suspected.
Once the EMT takes over, coaches and parents are required to follow his/her instructions. The EMT will determine if an ambulance is needed. If it is not, the player will be assisted offthe field and treated. The EMT as to whether or not the player may go back into the gamewill make recommendations.
At no time will a parent be allowed to overrule the EMT!
The EMT will also advise parents as to whether or not private medical treatment will beneeded. If this protocol is not followed, it can put the BYSA Youth Football Program in aliable situation.
Once the EMT comes onto the field, parents/guardians may also come onto the field; theymust stand back, however, to all the EMT to work. The coach(s) will also step back andstand with the parent(s).

Any minor injury that occurs in practice, or a game, should be treated by one of the coaches.(Designate which coach this will be prior to games/practices. It would make sense to havethis coach also responsible for equipment repair.) Parents should not assume this role. Thisway the coach is aware of the seriousness of the injury, or the condition of the equipment.
