100 US Patent Abstracts:USP # 6,506,148 (January 14, 2003)Nervous System Manipulation by EM Fields from MonitorsLoos, HendricusAbstract --- Physiological effects have been observed in a human subject inresponse to stimulation of the skin with weak electromagnetic fields that arepulsed with certain frequencies near 1/2 Hz or 2.4 Hz, such as to excite a sensoryresonance. Many computer monitors and TV tubes, when displaying pulsed images, emit pulsed electromagnetic fields of sufficient amplitudes to cause suchexcitation. It is therefore possible to manipulate the nervous system of a subjectby pulsing images displayed on a nearby computer monitor or TV set. For thelatter, the image pulsing may be imbedded in the program material, or it may beoverlaid by modulating a video stream, either as an RF signal or as a videosignal. The image displayed on a computer monitor may be pulsed effectively by asimple computer program. For certain monitors, pulsed electromagnetic fieldscapable of exciting sensory resonances in nearby subjects may be generated even asthe displayed images are pulsed with subliminal intensity.USP # 6,488,617 (December 3, 2002)Method and Device for Producing a Desired Brain StateKatz, BruceAbstract --- A method and device for the production of a desired brain state in anindividual contain means for monitoring and analyzing the brain state while a setof one or more magnets produce fields that alter this state. voltage audio power amplifier, a 7-stage ripple carry binary counter that lowersthe frequency of the signal from the second low voltage audio power amplifier soas to be humanly audible, a third low voltage audio power amplifier thatstrengthens the signal from the 7-stage ripple carry binary counter, and a speakerthat generates a humanly audible sound from the third low voltage audio poweramplifier.USP # 6,292,688 (September 18, 2001)Method and Apparatus for Analyzing Neurological Response to Emotion-InducingStimuliPatton, RichardAbstract --- A method of determining the extent of the emotional response of atest subject to stimului having a time-varying visual content, for example, anadvertising presentation. The test subject is positioned to observe thepresentation for a given duration, and a path of communication is establishedbetween the subject and a brain wave detector/analyzer. The intensity component ofeach of at least two different brain wave frequencies is measured during theexposure, and each frequency is associated with a particular emotion. While thesubject views the presentation, periodic variations in the intensity component ofthe brain waves of each of the particular frequencies selected is measured. Thechange rates in the intensity at regular periods during the duration are alsomeasured. The intensity change rates are then used to construct a graph of pluralcoordinate points, and these coordinate points graphically establish the compositeemotional reaction of the subject as the presentation continues.USP # 6,258,022 (July 10,2001)Behavior ModificationRose, JohnAbstract --- Behavior modification of a human subject takes place under hypnosis, when the subject is in a relaxed state. A machine plays back a video or audiorecording, during which the subject is instructed to activate a device to create aperceptible stimulation which is linked, through the hypnosis, with avisualization of enhanced or improved performance. After the hypnosis, the usercan reactivate the device at will, whenever the improved performance, such as animproved sporting performance, is desired. This will again create the perceptiblestimulation and thus induce the required visualization.USP # 6,239,705 (May 29,2001)Intra-Oral Electronic Tracking DeviceGlen, JeffreyAbstract --- An improved stealthy, non-surgical, biocompatable electronic trackingdevice is provided in which a housing is placed intraorally. The housing containsmicrocircuitry. The microcircuitry comprises a receiver, a passive mode to activemode activator, a signal decoder for determining positional fix, a transmitter, anantenna, and a power supply. Optionally, an amplifier may be utilized to boostsignal strength. The power supply energizes the receiver. Upon receiving a codedactivating signal, the positional fix signal decoder is energized, determining apositional fix. The transmitter subsequently transmits through the antenna aposition locating signal to be received by a remote locator. In another embodimentof the present invention, the microcircuitry comprises a receiver, a passive modeto active mode activator, a transmitter, an antenna and a power supply.Optionally, an amplifier may be utilized to boost signal strength. The powersupply energizes the receiver. Upon receiving a coded activating signal, thetransmitter is energized. The transmitter subsequently transmits through theantenna a homing signal to be received by a remote locator.USP # 6,167,304 (December 26, 2000)Pulse Variability in Electric Field Manipulation of Nervous Systems

Loos, HendricusAbstract --- Apparatus and method for manipulating the nervous system of a subjectby applying to the skin a pulsing external electric field which, although too weakto cause classical nerve stimulation, modulates the normal spontaneous spikingpatterns of certain kinds of afferent nerves. For certain pulse frequencies theelectric field stimulation can excite in the nervous system resonances withobservable physiological consequences. Pulse variability is introduced for thepurpose of thwarting habituation of the nervous system to the repetitivestimulation, or to alleviate the need for precise tuning to a resonance frequency,or to control pathological oscillatory neural activities such as tremors orseizures. Pulse generators with stochastic and deterministic pulse variability aredisclosed, and the output of an effective generator of the latter type ischaracterized.USP # 6,135,944 (October 24, 2000)Method of Inducing Harmonious States of BeingBowman, Gerard D., et al.Abstract --- A method of inducing harmonious states of being using vibrationalstimuli, preferably sound, comprised of a multitude of frequencies expressing aspecific pattern of relationship. Two base signals are modulated by a set ofratios to generate a plurality of harmonics. The harmonics are combined to form a"fractal" arrangement.USP # 6,122,322 (September 19, 2000)Subliminal Message ProtectionJandel, MagnusAbstract --- The present invention relates to a method and to a system fordetecting a first context change between two frames. When a second context changebetween a further two frames occurs within a predetermined time interval, theframes accommodated within the two context changes are defined as a subliminalmessage. An alarm is sent to an observer upon detection of a subliminal message.USP # 6,091,994 (July 18, 2000)Pulsative Manipulation of Nervous SystemsLoos, HendricusAbstract --- Method and apparatus for manipulating the nervous system by impartingsubliminal pulsative cooling to the subject's skin at a frequency that is suitablefor the excitation of a sensory resonance. At present, two major sensoryresonances are known, with frequencies near 1/2 Hz and 2.4 Hz. The 1/2 Hz sensoryresonance causes relaxation, sleepiness, ptosis of the eyelids, a tonic smile, a"knot" in the stomach, or sexual excitement, depending on the precise frequencyused. The 2.4 Hz resonance causes the slowing of certain cortical activities, andis characterized by a large increase of the time needed to silently count backwardfrom 100 to 60, with the eyes closed. The invention can be used by the generalpublic for inducing relaxation, sleep, or sexual excitement, and clinically forthe control and perhaps a treatment of tremors, seizures, and autonomic systemdisorders such as panic attacks. Embodiments shown are a pulsed fan to impartsubliminal cooling pulses to the subject's skin, and a silent device which inducesperiodically varying flow past the subject's skin, the flow being induced bypulsative rising warm air plumes that are caused by a thin resistive wire which isperiodically heated by electric current pulses.USP # 6,081,744 (June 27, 2000)Electric Fringe Field Generator for Manipulating Nervous SystemsLoos, HendricusAbstract --- Apparatus and method for manipulating the nervous system of a subjectthrough afferent nerves, modulated by externally applied weak fluctuating electricfields, tuned to certain frequencies such as to excite a resonance in neural
