In Neighbourhoods, Sajeevta Foundation Supports:
A social group for learning:
 
creating a social group of engaged learners through regular collaboration with children, family and school to solveproblems and decide how to strengthen learning.
 
Learning how tolearn well:
 
mentoring children to build up learning abilities, so that theybecome aware of how they are learning and become active inimproving their own learning behaviour.
Strengtheningunderstanding:
 
group and individualised learning for each child to understandessential material and techniques to manage school and extra-curricular learning.
Motivation andguidance:
 
preparing children to set aims and to overcome barriers toreach long-term goals for further education, training andemployment.
Since 2010, fifteen children have been supported with over 20 hours per week of learning and mentoring in morning and evening sessions at the Sajeevtaneighbourhood learning centre in Gandhinagar. Children have been selectedwhere families
lack formal education and resources to effectively support children’s
school learning. Four learning mentors work at the Gandhinagar neighbourhoodcentre running classes with the children and working with families, teachers andthe school management team.
 
Four Learning Mentors run classes 5 days a week: with pre-school children in the mornings andwith primary-level children in the evenings at the Gandhinagar neighbourhood centre.
 
In Schools, Sajeevta Foundation Supports:
Sajeevta Foundation and Chaitanya School (managed by Sree Vidya NiketanTrust) have been working together since April 2012 to create an overalllearning environment where innovation for inclusive learning is a sustainedpractice for 30 teachers and 400 students. Workshops for teachers andmanagement as well as in-classroom coaching are strengthening an internalinnovation team for better practice appropriate for the needs of students.
