An exchange on which shares of stock and common stock equivalents are bought and sold.
An exchange where security trading is conducted by professionalstockbrokers.

To be listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) a company must haveissued at least a million shares of stock worth $100 million and must have earnedmore than $10 million over the last three years.
