MediaVest launches in India

The media agency MediaVest Worldwide announced thelaunch of its Indian operations in the cities of Mumbai,Chennai and Bengaluru. MediaVest Worldwide. Thecompany currently services a number of clients in Indiaincluding Cadila, Color Plus, Essar Retail, J Hampstead andRichemont Group. MediaVest Worldwide operates in 29countries and is a subsidiary of Publicis Groupe.
Future Group acquires 60% stake in ad agency,Dhar & Hoon

The Indian consumer services and retail company, FutureGroup has acquired a 60% stake in the ad agency, Dhar &Hoon. The subsidiary will be branded as D & H BlurbCommunications. Future Group has expanded beyond itscore retail business into telecoms, media, financial servicesand hospitality. Dhar & Hoon clients include BPL, Dabur,Godfrey Philips, and Future Group.
Mobile operator, Tata Indicom launches SMS-based Facebook offering

The mobile operator, Tata Indicom has launched a Facebook application for mobile handsets; the application works usingSMS messaging. Tata have 31.8 million subscribers(approximately 10% of the market, December 2008.

Disney Publishing Worldwide launched comicbooks in India

Walt Disney has entered into an agreement with a localIndian publisher, Junior Diamond, a local publisher topublish Disney comics in English and Hindi for the Indianmarket. Junior Diamond is planning initial print runs of 50,000 copies for each of the Donald Duck and MickeyMouse magazines. The company is also planning to launchadditional book titles including Snow White and the SevenDwarfs and Cinderella.
UTV launched UTVatPlay, a music video channelon mobile television

UTV Software Communications, a leading diversified mediacompany has launched a music video channel for mobilebroadcasting called UTV@Play. The channel is available tosubscribers of the mobile networks of Idea Cellular, BSNL,MTNL and Vodafone. It offers over 5,000 music videos inHindi, English and a number of local languages includingPunjabi, Tamil, Telgu, Kannada, Bhojpuri and Marathi.There are two pricing options: charges of Rs. 10- 15 fordownloading unlimited music videos for 24 hours; or amonthly subscription of Rs. 30 - 99.
