Julia: Well, now that you mention it, I wouldnt mind going to Stacys new place. I heard the food is wonderful. The prices are supposed to be reasonable as well.
Chris: Really? I didnt even know Stacy opened up a new restaurant. Why didnt you tell me? Do you happen to know what kind of food they serve? Julia: I thought I told you about it. Perhaps it just slipped my mind. Anyway, I think they have a little bit of everything, because I know they have pasta, seafood, salads, and steaks. Its like an upscale family restaurant.
Chris: That sounds good to me because I have no idea what I want to eat. Plus, Stacys other restaurant has some of the best food in town. Okay, Ill call and make a reservation.

When was the last time you had to make a reservation for a table at a restaurant? Was it a special occasion or not? Who did you go with?
Below is a short list of some of the hardest-to-get-into restaurants in the United States. The French Laundry restaurant, located in Manhattan, is famous for its two-month waiting list. The menu, which changes daily, is a jumble of bite-size tastings, the most modest of which involves five courses ($125) including cheese and dessert. The hardest place to get a reservation in Washington, D.C., aside from the White House, is a restaurant called the Teensy Minibar. Its especially tough to get reservations there because there are only six seats in the entire place. Reservations are taken a month in advance, and even then, you still may not get in. Pizzeria Mozza is a pizza joint located in downtown L.A. The general manager says people will do just about anything to land a table at this hopping place. Yesterday, somebody asked me if I would take a bribe. Its crazy what people will do just to get a reservation there.

What is the main idea of this passage? The text lists three hard-to-get-into restaurants in the U.S. If you were to choose one of these restaurants to eat at, which one would it be? Why? The manager of Pizzeria Mozza says people will do almost anything to get a table at the restaurant. Why do you think people want to eat at this restaurant so bad? Do you think that its the food or the pizzerias exclusivity that makes this joint so popular?
1) We cant get a table for Saturday because the restaurant is completely booked up.
2) Whats the game plan for tonight?
a) to be just the perfect thing b) All the available places are reserved.
c) a ticket (for a plane, train, bus, etc.) that allows you to go to a destination and return
3) Jessica was flying high after she found out she got the job!
4) This soup is just the ticket for a cold, winter day. 5) Purchasing round-trip tickets can often save you money.
d) to be very happy and excited e) a strategy or plan, either for work or fun
