Clown couple ties the knot, no foolin’ 
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) — If the key to a long marriage islaughter, these clowns are set.Billy Tedeski and Patty Kulwicki tied the knot at an annualclown festival in central Pennsylvania.The (Harrisburg) Patriot-News reports Kulwicki literally reeledTedeski in to start the ceremony — a bit the Pittsburgh couplehad performed at Clownfest two years ago.Tedeski wore a fake nose, black lipstick and full clown regalia ashe exchanged vows with Kulwicki at the festival in Lancaster. Thebride wore the same dress she’d used in the skit two years ago, plusa lace headband to go along with her flame-red wig. Guests got inon the act and so did the officiant, a fellow clown. Tedeski says hisfellow clowns are more than friends, they’re family.
Fire lends town’s water smoky taste and smell 
THE DALLES, Ore. (AP) — Residents of an Oregon town onthe Columbia River gorge have complained about a smoky tasteand smell in their water.Turns out, it wasn’t their imaginations: Public health authori-ties say a nearby wildfire burning in a drainage basin contributedthe sooty aroma to the town’s drinking water. The Dalles Chroni-cle reports the fire dropped burning debris into the stream.Aside from the aesthetic issues, authorities say the water posesno health risks.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — To serve and protect is a com-mon police motto. In western Michigan, it extends even to pigs.Grand Rapids police say they rescued a 6-month-old pig namedRamone. The pet got away from his home in the city’s Eastownneighborhood and approached Officer Jeremy Huffman. Huffmanput the porker in the back seat of a squad car. Grand Rapids policeposted a picture on its Facebook page, where it’s received morethan 1,000 “likes” and more than 100 comments.
