Executive Summary:
The
Monterey
Peninsula Regional Park District
is
seekingapplications
for
parks, openspace,andcoastalpreservation projects. Funding criteria include projects
that
increase
the
safety
of
park users, particularly youngchildren; projects
that
enhance Americans
with
Disabilities Actaccessibility; acquisition
of
land;and projects
that
enhancepublicawareness andappreciation
of
parks, recreationandopenspace.Ci
ty
staffhas identified
the
playgroundarea
of
Forest Hill Park
as
being inneed
of
improvement
to
enhance
the
quality
of
use andsafety
for
parkvisitors.
Analysis/Discussion:
The playgroundequipment inForest Hill Park
is
about lSyears old. Whilestillin satisfactorycondition, there are a couple
of
apparatus
that
arerequiring more maintenance and areshowingmore wear
that
will need
to
be
replaced.Also,
the
wood border
is
due
for
replacement andnewwood chips are needed.
