On the occasion of Radhaashtami (September 12, 2013, celebrations continue to Sunday Sep 15, 2013 in ISKCON temples of USA), I have provided here the 1000 names of Sri Radha, as found in the Radhika Sahasranaamam, told by Lord Shiva to Parvati devi. It is a part of the Narada Paancaraatra. Enjoy also the picture of the Divine Lotus-feet of Srimati Radharani taken yesterday at the ISKCON temple at Detroit, MI.

Shree Radhika Sahasranaamam
(The1000 Names of Radha)English transliteration with Sanskrit text
The Divine lotus-feet of Srimati Radharani, revealed on Radhashtami day, Sep 12, 2013, at the ISKCON temple in Detroit, MI.
The Sahasranamstotra Sangraha (Gita Press, Gorakhpur) is a compilation of the Sahasranamams (1000 names) for several deities and includes theSahasranamams for Shree Krishna, then one addressed to Radhakrishna, andfinally one for Radhika. The following is my humble effort to render the 1000

names today, in both Sanskrit and the English transliteration, an effort that Ibegin this morning on holy day of Radhashtami, September 12, 2013. I ampresenting below the first 100 naamas and will update this document duringthe day and in the course of the next few days until all 1000 names arecompleted. The following two sources with a brief English translation (andEnglish transliteration) are available.http://www.vrindavan.de/1000-radha.htm http://www.stephen-knapp.com/sri_radha-sahasra-nama.htm http://www.google.com/ig/directory?type=gadgets&url=hosting.gmodules.com/ig/gadgets/file/103159279678197997651/googleindictransliteration.xml Google Indic Transliterator tool used in this compilationAs with many other scriptures, the Sahasranamam starts as a conversationbetween Parvati and Lord Shiva. Parvati devi wants Lord Shiva to reveal toher the 1000 names of Radha and how and why She, the Goddess who creates(BrahmaanDa kartree) and destroys (hartree), became a Gopi. Parvati wantsto know these 1000 names that are more secret (guhyataram) than the most secret (guhyaat) of all and had never before been revealed to anyone.
Notice that the naamaas here take the ending “yai” following the rules for
female nouns. For example, no. 44 is Shivaayai Namah, from Shivaa for afemale name (long vowel at end) as opposed Shivaaya namah, from Shiva, fora male name (short vowel at the end). Likewise, no. 45 is GaNaadhyakshaayaiNamah, from GaNaadhyakshaa (long vowel at the end) for a female name. Thesame name, when used with Ganesha, becomes GaNaadhyakshaaya Namah, from GaNaadhyaksha for a male noun.
