SEMINOLE PATCHWORK QAL PART 4

Hiya People! Im back with the fourth and final part of the Seminole Patchwork QAL. In this part, Ive attempted to demystify two more lovely Seminole patterns. So lets get on with it.

Pattern 1
For the first pattern you need four strips of fabric in four different colours to prepare a strip set like this

For a finished 5.75x 2.75 Seminole band, I used 9 long strips. The two corner strips, purple and grey, are 2.25 wide. The two centre strips, yellow and green are both 1 and 1/8 of an inch wide (I know, weird measurement, but it seemed to work better here! You can cut them an inch wide, if you please) Cut the stripset across the width in the usual way, into segments about as wide as the centre strips, 1.1 in this case. Now comes the fun part of putting it together.

Take the segments in pairs and sew them together by flipping one in the opposite direction, in this way

Now take the pairs, stagger and sew them together like so

Press the seams, trim the edges and youre done!

Pattern 2
For this pattern, you will need two strip sets A an B that look like this
A

Finished Seminole band 9.5x4 For strip set A, all the strips are 6.5 long. The yellow and 2 purple strips are 1.1 wide each. The grey strips are 2.25 wide each.

For strip set B, all the strips are 12long One grey strip 3.1 wide One grey strip - 2 wide Purple strip 1.1 Cut both strip sets across the width into 1.1segments.

Now take 2 segments from strip set B and one section of strip set A and sew them together in this manner (note in the first segment of strip set B, the wider grey part is on top and in the second segment it is flipped, so it is down.)

Take the sewn triads, stagger and sew them together just so

Press seams, trim and voila! You have a beautiful Seminole band, you can use to adorn just about anything!

I have kept this part of the QAL brief and not gone into too many details as it as already been explained in the previous parts. In case something is unclear, please feel free to let me know.

All the best! I hope you have enjoyed this QAL as much as I did bringing it to you!
