Although
we
have
requestedbudget
cutsfrom
other
City
Departments
we
have
not
looked
at
our
own
budget
to
reduce
expenditures
for
upcoming
years
I
would
like
to
discuss
thisat
our
next
worksession
propose
that
we
look
attwo
areas
in
our
budget
for
reductions
the
stipend
that
council
members
receiveand
our
IT
charges
As
you
know
we
cannot
change
the
salariesfor
thecurrent
council
only
for
future
councils
I
uggest
that
we
freeze
our
salaries
at
the
FY2009
rate
beginning
January
2010
Admittedly
the
savings
in
nominal
998

or
FY10
but
if
we
have
the
expectation
that
salaries
of
City
staffshouldbe
reduced
to
reflect
thecurrenteconomc
climate
we
should
take
simlar
measures
in
our
department
