Description

The Walk for Healthcare
Starting Saturday (6/27) in Chicago and ending Sunday (7/26) in Washington, DC
http://walk4healthcare.org Follow us on Twitter @walk4healthcare

Why: To raise awareness of the importance of “healthcare for all” and specifically to meet with people and hear, share, and document their stories. To bring the “Voice of the People” to the forefront of this critical debate – perhaps the most important legislative initiative since the civil rights era.
Come to the Chicago Launch!!

The Walk 4 Healthcare is a grassroots, low-budget initiative. That being said, the effort is not without expense—mostly lodging (when accommodations with folks along the way are not available), meals and supplies. All other work is being done on a volunteer basis.

Any donation helps. You can donate in the following ways:
PayPal
Go to www.paypal.com. Payments can be directed to the email: donate@walk4healthcare.or g

In Person
Stop by the Chase branch in Wrigleyville, Chicago (3500 N Clark Street). Ask to speak with Reeve Lazar (Assistant Branch Manager) or Michelle Johnson (Branch Manager) or anyone of their very friendly and helpful staff. They can arrange payment to the dedicated bank account for "Walk 4 Healthcare." You can also do this at any Chase bank branch.
Sponsorship
If you are a company or organization that wishes to sponsor the event (cash or in-kind donation), please contact Ogan Gurel (ogan@walk4healthcare.org ) or John Moore (John@walk4healthcare.org ). We are open to sponsorships but we will be very selective. All proposals will be carefully reviewed to avoid any conflicts-of-interest or undue influence over this grass-roots effort. There is an opportunity in connection with this to have a banner ad on the http://walk4healthcare.org website/blog.

All funds received in excess of expenses will be donated at the end of the walk to a non-profit dedicated to healthcare reform. Feel free to suggest worthy non-profits by emailing to: ogan@walk4healthcare.org

Thank you very much for your support!
