My writing reflect back to 1973, when the era of Black pride and awareness was being capitalized and widely dispersed, utilized as well as recognized, I must not leave out-Accepted Relating to The poems , I Am A Black Woman, & I’m An African Woman. The poetic works of Ninny-Knew-Not’s, Mama’s Lil’ Ugly Baby were written around the time of the first half of my family Klan of 13 births. Poems like “Fat Mama” and “You’re Struck” were written not only to make--
Homely women and so called fat women feel good about themselves- but to be engulfed with total satisfaction about themselves- enough satisfaction to let go that consciousness latc h on to issues of greater importance such as our final destination.

It is my intention to make you aware of the uniqueness of your given life, and such a gift was not bestowed to you to be isolated and cloistered into a shell like that of a hermit, but virtuously blossom and embellish in some way, the lives and purpose of others with your living fragrance, beauty and fortitude.

If anyone has ever related to you while in the epitome of their trails by saying
“ girl, I been thru so much I could write a book…” then, the truth in all actuality is-- She could write book if she’d only took the time to do so.-
