PRAYER LIFE

God reveals Himself in the Godhead through the atonement. He reveals Hisholiness, His grace and gentleness and provides the atonement for our sin. Hegently intimates to us to start to move not just to study His goodness. His goodnessis meant to cause us to do something.
Matthew 10:24 The disciple is not above [his] master, nor the servant above hislord.
The atonement has made us so that we can pursue the following of Jesus to be likeHim because He became like us. In other words, I have given you ample provision,now I invite you to take some definite steps.
James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness,and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your ownselves.
Do something. Lay apart the past life and receive the engrafted word that will saveyour soul. As you receive the engrafted word, do the word, don't just talk about it,don't just hear it, follow me, do what I did.
John 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shallalso my servant be: if any man serve me, him will [my] Father honour.

These words are speaking of practical action. Follow me, be where I am, do what Iam doing all for a purpose so that we can become like Him.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and Iwill give you rest.11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly inheart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.11:30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.
Come to me, follow me, take my yoke and learn of me – apprenticeship.
He is just as willing to manifest His power through us as through the firstdisciples. However imperfect and sinful we may be, the Lord holds out to usthe offer of partnership with Himself, of apprenticeship to Christ. He invites usto come under the divine instruction, that, uniting with Christ, we may work theworks of God. {DA 297.1}
This is our privilege to work the works of God. When it comes to doing we are calledto an apprenticeship procedure. An apprentice follows the tradesman's lead but theapprentice must do something otherwise he doesn't get anywhere. The first lesson of apprenticeship we need to learn is prayer. Why do we need to learn the lesson of prayer? If we want to be saved, we must call on the name of the Lord;
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall besaved.Jeremiah 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,and I will hearken unto you.29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with allyour heart.
We need to learn to pray for the result of salvation that we can find God. Withoutprayer we can read and study as much as we like but we still will not be able to makethe connection. Prayer is necessary.
Jeremiah 33:3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great andmighty things, which thou knowest not.
Pray for the purpose of salvation, pray that you may find Him and pray that He mayshow you things that you didn't know.
Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shallfind; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and tohim that knocketh it shall be opened.11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him astone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them thatask him?
To gain salvation and to have what you need, you need to pray. To really experiencethe things we have studied, to really know the living reality of it all we need the HolySpirit. If you ask He will give us the Holy Spirit and as we have studied the Holy Spiritneeds to not only be with us, but in us. We need to pray for that, we need tounderstand prayer life to appreciate and receive the Holy Spirit. Recall what weread in regard to the Holy Spirit;
1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.2:10 But God hath revealed [them] unto us by his Spirit: for the Spiritsearcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.2:11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man whichis in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which isof God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
We need the Holy Spirit to illuminate us but we must pray and ask the Father to giveHim to us.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father willsend in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
We need to know from Jesus how to pray. How do we pray? We need to be taughtabout prayer. What were they asking?
Luke 11:1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, whenhe ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as Johnalso taught his disciples.
He is our example and we are to follow in His footsteps to perfection;
1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
The first step is to pray;
John 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say untoyou, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is
