Please Note:
The original request to reviewand approve the new information collectionrequirement regarding the collection of personal data for background checkinvestigations was for both temporarycontractors and child care workers accessingGSA owned and leased controlled facilities.However, through discussions with OMB amore streamlined process will be developedfor conducting background checks ontemporary contractors. GSA is thereforepulling the request for review and approvalof the collection of personal data for background check investigations of temporary contractors, form GSA 176T,presented in the
Federal Register
publicationof February 17, 2009, 74 FR 7439. GSA isproceeding with the request for review andapproval for background check investigationsof child care workers, form GSA 176C—to bereferred to as form GSA 176, BackgroundCheck Investigations for Child Care Workers.

Chapter 35), the FederalAcquisition Regulation (FAR)Regulatory Secretariat will besubmitting to the Office of Managementand Budget (OMB) a request to reviewand approve an extension of a currentlyapproved information collectionrequirement concerning Novation/Change of Name Requirements. Arequest for public comments waspublished in the

at 74FR 18716, April 24, 2009. No commentswere received.Public comments are particularlyinvited on: Whether this collection of information is necessary; whether it willhave practical utility; whether ourestimate of the public burden of thiscollection of information is accurate,and based on valid assumptions andmethodology; ways to enhance thequality, utility, and clarity of theinformation to be collected; and ways inwhich we can minimize the burden of the collection of information on thosewho are to respond, through the use of appropriate technological collectiontechniques or other forms of informationtechnology.
