SHEEN Sharing Diigo TrainingHighlighting and Annotating Bookmarks using Diigo Toolbar
Once you have the Diigo Toolbar installed, you can highlight selections of Web pages you arebookmarking, annotate the pages or the highlights, and share these highlights and annotations.
1.
Commenting on Web Pages
1. Hover over the Comment button in the toolbar near the top of your browser,
and see text: “

.2. Click on this button and your Diigo sidebar will open to the left-hand of the screen. You can dragthe border of the sidebar to make it wider if need be. Adding a Comment will automaticallybookmark the page you are commenting on to your Diigo account with the comment added.3. You

ll see two tabs in the sidebar: Readers and Annotations: Annotations should be open.a.
Select whether to make your comment Public or Private;b.
You can select a Group to share the bookmark and comment with (or not);c.
Click the little conversation balloon icon to add further comments if you wish;d.
Click the little trashcan icon by a comment if you wish to delete it;e.
Click

See all annotations

to see options for reading annotations on the Web page;f.
Click
“
Highlights and Sticky Notes
”
to see sections others have highlighted on this pageand sticky notes they
’
ve added.4. Select the Readers tab to see who else on Diigo has bookmarked this page.
2. Floating Sticky Notes
Floating sticky notes are another way of leaving comments on Web pages. Again, they can be Publicor Private, and can be shared with specific Groups. They actually look like yellow sticky notes youmight add to a real book; you can append them anywhere on a Web page.1. Click on the small down-arrow to the right of the Comment button and select the option
“Add a
floating sticky note to this page
”.
Adding a sticky note will automatically bookmark the page you arecommenting on to your Diigo account with the sticky note added.a.
Move the yellow speech bubble to where you want to leave your sticky note.b.
Select whether to make your comment Public or Private;c.
You can select a Group to share the bookmark and comment with (or not); Click the littleconversation balloon icon to add further comments if you wish;d.
Add your comment in the yellow sticky note bos;e.
Click the little trashcan icon by a comment if you wish to delete it;f.
Click OK.2. Click the Diigo sidebar icon at the far-left of the Toolbar to see, edit, delete Annotations,Highlights and Sticky Notes for this page.
3. Highlighting and Annotating Highlights
1. Highlight a piece of text in a Web page that you want to share or remember.
