Negotiability – negotiable if goods are delivered to order or bearer:- Negotiable if “bearer” or “to the order of” a named person- Similar to commercial paper, advantage to holding title:
o
A holder of a duly negotiated document of title (similar to HDC) is subject to only a fewdefences
o
To be a holder of duly negotiated document of title:
Give present value for title
Take the title in good faith
Without any notice of an adverse claim or defense
Purchaser must obtain it in the regular course of business or financing***Must know what makes a title negotiable – it is negotiable if by its terms goods are to be delivered to“bearer” or “to the order of” a named person.Bearer title is negotiated by delivery alone.Order document requires delivery of the document plus a valid signature of the person named on thedocument.Forgery of the person’s signature is not proper negotiation. I understand, FAR is a big exam and book.. very frightening actually. I sat for it once but did not pass. I'm scared to take it again! How did you study for FAR?
Also, due to the material volume in FAR, I suggest you do a thorough review of all the previous chapters after studying every third chapter. (i.e. After chap. 3, review chap. 1-3. After chap. 6, review chap. 1-6.)
I used Becker for all 4 parts of the exam, but heard that Yaegar is just as good and even better in terms of pricing. I carefully listened to the entire lecture twice, and in the weak areas, I heard them a total of 3 times. Also, I did the MCQ twice, and again a third time in the weaker areas.
Just wondering, when are you taking Financial? I take it you haven't. I'm going at it a second time sometime before May 31, 2010. Yikes! Best of luck to you, your notes show you don't really need it!
Thanks for the compliment. I just sat for Financial on November 28 (Thanksgiving weekend), I'm glad to get this all behind me now! FAR was just too heavy for me, and so I didn't make any notes for it. Best of luck to you and let me know if I can be of any help :)
You're very welcome =)
Future CPA, How can we download the REG notes without paying the fees? Thanks for sharing this with everybody!!
Thanks sb12ya! I'm glad I could be of some help. I sat for the FAR exam, but he material in FAR was too much material for me to digest. Therefore, I didn't write any notes for FAR. Sorry couldn't be of any help there. My best suggestion to you would be to study EVERYTHING. I was tested equally on all chapters. Best of luck to you in your CPA journey!!!
Your notes really helped me to revise the chapters well. Thanks for uploading them. Used them in all 3 exams - REG, AUD, BEC. Have you written them for FAR? If so could u upload them please. Thanks in advance
I also did 2 months - but I was unemployeed, so I was able to devote more time towards studying.
So how long did it take you to study for FAR? Sorry, I'm very curious.. I am alotting myself 3 months but that is with me possibly working full-time.
Thank you so much for Reg Notes!!!
Thank you so much. It is very helpful.
