1AFRICA Zimbabwe has an estimated 1.5 million

orphans, most having lost their parents through
HIV/Aids, malaria or cholera. Nations are reluctant to
give help in case \ue003unds are misused. Please pray \ue003or the
people in Zimbabwe who have enormous physical and
spiritual needs, especially Christians trying to live out
their \ue003aith in such di\ue002cult circumstances.

2AIM INTERNATIONAL SERVICES Alan Masters, Director

o\ue003 Aim International Services, writes: \u201cFrom
accountants to engineers, artists to mechanics, rarely is
such an unusual mix o\ue003 talent brought together under
one organisation with a single mission: Christ-centred
churches among all A\ue003rican peoples.\u201d Pray \ue003or them as
they \ue003ul\ue001l their mandate o\ue003 serving those who serve.

3INTERNATIONAL OFFICE Pray \ue003or Paul Shaddick,

continuing to develop IT systems and
communication, and his \ue003amily. Remember also Terry
Mason, Personnel Director and Rosemary Scott, his
deputy, and Robbie Mason who manages the o\ue002ce.
Pray \ue003or Wade and Sue Ewing, Finance Director based
in USA.

WeekendFocus
CENTRAL REGION OFFICE Pray \ue003or Naomi Jones whose

English teaching has \ue001nished \ue003or this term. Her other
job is caring \ue003or short-termers when they arrive. She
recently stepped in as co-leader o\ue003 a team when the
leader dropped out. Pray \ue003or her looking a\ue003ter 26 short-
termers who arrived last month. She asks prayer that
she may help each one o\ue003 them to \ue003eel valued.

24ACE Pray \ue003or Moira McInnes who is awaiting

treatment \ue003or a health problem. Her work in
Glasgow is encouraging, as she makes home visits
and establishes relationships with the A\ue003rican ladies
in the Asylum Seekers project. Pray also \ue003or Peter and
Maureen Prior in Bristol.

WeekendFocus
ThIRd CuLTuRE KIdS (MISSIONARIES\u2019 ChILdREN) Jan Rossington

is on the Board o\ue003 Kigali International Community
School in Rwanda, and asks \ue003or prayer \ue003or the need
\ue003or both primary and secondary Christian teachers.
Fi\ue003teen missionary \ue003amilies send their children there
and twelve more \ue003amilies are coming in the next \ue003ew
months. Hal\ue003 the school population are Rwandan, the
children o\ue003 very in\ue000uential Rwandan \ue003amilies, so the
school is a great opportunity to share the gospel with
potential \ue003uture leaders in the country.

27M O B I L I S E R S Serge and Catherine Gutierrez are

encouraged at the good reception o\ue003 prayer
manuals they translated \ue003or A\ue003rican women. Recently
Serge took part in a young people\u2019s con\ue003erence in
Brittany where he spoke about the mission, ran
workshops and challenged young \ue003olk \ue003rom the
churches to accompany him to visit missionaries on
the \ue001eld. Pray many more French young people would
be committed.

28M O B I L I S E R S Give thanks \ue003or Peter and Sally Maclure

who have joined Steve Lancaster part-time in the
work in the South o\ue003 England, and pray \ue003or success in
making contacts and promoting the Lord\u2019s work. They
will be starting 1st August. Pray \ue003or a new appointment
in Ireland where Dorothy McKay has temporarily
stepped in, and \ue003or Bill Rettie in Scotland part-time.

van Reenen, Peter Root and Julie Cook in the
Personnel Department, as they help candidates make
decisions and raise support so that they can leave \ue003or
the \ue001eld. Remember also the Synergy Programme
where Judith Boyd and Miriam Knight are dealing with

shorter terms o\ue003 service by individuals and teams. Pray
\ue003or long term \ue003ruit \ue003or their eforts.
30R E T I R E d Pray \ue003or Dick (medical missionary and

\ue003ormer International Director o\ue003 Aim) and Joan
Anderson\u2019s daughter Helen\u2019s continued recovery \ue003rom
very serious injuries in a road accident. She has come
through two huge operations on the bones o\ue003 all \ue003our
limbs, and has had chest complications. Pray \ue003or her
\ue003uture care a\ue003ter leaving hospital.

31NEW MEMBERS We welcome Walter and Rosie

McCorkell \ue003rom Ireland, who have been visiting
Mozambique to look at possible assignments. Pray
\ue003or clear guidance \ue003or their \ue003uture, and also \ue003or new
member Esther Troeger \ue003rom Germany, who is also a
member o\ue003 DMG, our partner mission there. Esther is
trained in childcare, and hopes to join a TIMO team on
one o\ue003 the Islands in January.
