TOLeeps, a Toledo organization dedicated to helping local Twitter users connect offline,announces the first ever Tattooleetup: A Tattoo & Arts Event Gone Twitter. The event,scheduled for Friday July 10 at the 20 North Gallery, will feature the talents of some of thearea's finest tattoo artists, musicians, and visual and performing artists.
Toledo, OH, June 22, 2009 - On Friday July 10, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., TOLeeps will host itsfirst event, Tattooleetup: A Tattoo & Arts Event Gone Twitter, at the 20 North Gallery at 18 N. St.Clair St. in downtown Toledo. Area residents will be treated to an evening of art, music, and moreas some of the area's finest tattoo artists work their magic. For attendees who aren't ready for apermanent tattoo, temporary body art options will be available at no charge.The work of local visual artists will provide a fitting backdrop in the art gallery setting. Toledo areaperformance artists and musicians will also entertain attendees throughout the evening.Admission is free and registered participants will receive a goodie bag at the door. ContinentSoymilk has graciously covered all other expenses associated with the event.What makes Tattooleetup unique is that the event was born and initially planned on the wildlypopular social networking site Twitter. Last month, a Ning network was set up to help promote theevent at http://toleeps.ning.com. Within 24 hours of the network's creation, TOLeeps had more
than 30 members. The group realized that nothing of this nature had ever been done before.While the number of attendees is limited by geographic location, interest in the event has spreadthroughout the country.As a method of keeping attendees up-to-date, the organizers host a bi-weekly video chat.Participants from across the country have tuned in to get more information. As a result, theplanners have decided to stream the entire event live thanks to the web-based serviceLivestream.com at http://livestream.com/toleeps.
Viewers watching from home will enjoy an immersive experience thanks to Twubs.com.
