The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) hasdeveloped this guide to help voters successully navi-gate the Federal elections process, rom registering tovote to casting a ballot on Election Day. In additionto the basics o ballot-casting, this guide includesinormation on eligibility and early voting, as well asthe registration and voting process or military andcivilians living abroad, and polling place servicesthat make voting more accessible.

At a minimum, you must be 1
8years o age and a U.S. citi-zen to be eligible to vote.States may also havetheir own requirements,which are outlined inthe “State Instructions”section o the NationalMail Voter RegistrationForm (available online atwww.eac.gov). State and localelection oices can also provideinormation on voter eligibility.
How do I rEgIstEr to votE?
You may register to vote by completing and submit-ting the National Mail Voter Registration Form.
