Apparently “LoveGame” by Lady GaGa doesn’t need any extra special marketing strategies (as Isuggested in a previous post

) to shoot up the charts. After just 8 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100  “LoveGame” is now #6.This week “LoveGame” is the #4 selling digital single oniTunesbehind “I Gotta Feeling” (Black EyedPeas) at #1, ”Boom Boom Pow” (Black Eyed Peas) at #2, and “Fire Burning” (Sean Kingston) at #3.
Anatomy of a Hit
Let’s briefly examine some of the ingredients that make “LoveGame” a monster commercial hit:
Radio-friendly, synthesizer-driven, futuristic dance pop production by RedOne (who also produced “Poker Face” and “Just Dance”)
The infectious “let’s have some fun this beat is sick/I wanna take a ride on your disco stick”hook line
Memorable chorus (always important!)
Lady GaGa’s distinct, playful vocalsThe question that remains is will “LoveGame” have chart longevity?“Poker Face” (the single that preceded “LoveGame”) has been on the Billboard charts for 25 weeks andit’s STILL in the top 10. Success like that is going to be tough to top but if anyone is up for thechallenge, it’s Lady GaGa.Put me on the phone with GaGa’s publishers and I’ll demand that they license “LoveGame” for somehigh-profile ‘reality’ TV dating shows and a few major fitness or sports-related ad campaigns. Thatkind of exposure would be sure to keep “LoveGame” lingering on the charts and in listeners ears for months to come. Otherwise, aside from live performances of the song on tour, GaGa’s record labelswould be leaving the chart longevity of “LoveGame” up to chance. Why leave something up to chanceif you don’t have to?
“Paparazzi” vs. “StarStruck”
I stand by my  previous assertion that “StarStruck ” would make the best choice for Lady GaGa’s next single here in the States but right now reports indicate that her fourth U.S. single will be “Paparazzi.”It’s not a bad choice by any means but I can’t imagine it doing nearly as well in the U.S. as the threesingles released before it (”Just Dance”, “Poker Face”, and “LoveGame”). Guess we’ll just have to waitand see, won’t we?
Lady GaGa vs. Madonna
Since Lady GaGa splashed on the scene in 2008, there have been frequent comparisons to Madonna. Solet me just come right out and say it:
Lady GaGa is the new Madonna.
Or to put it more accurately:Lady GaGa is the Madonna of this generation.GaGa isn’t living in Madonnas shadow, either. Lady GaGa could represent our generation in much theway that Madonna did hers but she has a long way before she reaches that pinnacle. Right now GaGa’s potential is limitless and if fans and the media keep piling on the support, someday the name LadyGaGa could have a legacy attached to it similar to Madonna’s.Up to this point I think that Britney Spears is the one young artist who came closest to fillingMadonna’s shoes in mainstreamn pop/dance music but Lady GaGa has a personal element that Britney

To me, these two supersonic, supersexy stars are totally different constellations. I happen to fall for Lady Gaga. She crashes brightest in the ultimate YYY Lady Gaga bestseller I have unleashed upon her fans and haters, and mine as well through my Serious Entertainment.

Gaga is definitely on her way, that goes without saying.
