TITLE 1: SYSTEM OF STATUTES
Chapter 100Student Government Statutes100.1
Student Body laws of the Biscayne Bay Campus of permanent and general public interestshall be complied in a codification known as Biscayne Bay Campus Statutes. Thiscodification shall be observed by the Student Senate in enacting by-laws, and by theChief Justice in exercising judicial review.

The Student Body Statutes shall be organized into titles, each dealing with related andsimilar topics. Each title shall be composed of numerically designated chapters, asfollows:TITLE I(Ch. 100-199)System of StatutesTITLE II(Ch. 200-299)Membership, Powers and PurposeTITLE III(Ch. 300-399)Executive BranchTITLE IV(Ch. 400-499)Legislative BranchTITLE V(Ch. 500-599)Judicial BranchTITLE VI(Ch. 600-699)Governing CouncilsTITLE VII(Ch. 700-799)Elections CodeTITLE VIII(Ch. 800-899)Finance CodeTITLE IX(Ch. 900-999)General StatutesTITLE X(Ch. 1000-1999)University Wide Council

Each Chapter shall be sub-divided by means of a decimal arrangement carried out by twodecimal places. The first decimal place shall represent a chapter’s section and the seconddecimal place shall represent the subsection. Subsections shall relate back to the proceeding sections.

Each section and/or subsection in the statutes shall have printed after it, a history givingthe Senate and Bill numbers in which it was amended.

Only the most recent three (3) amendments shall be printed with the statutes; lessrecent amendments will be archived and available for reference.

The Senate has the authority to enact laws and the Judicial branch has the authority tonullify such laws not in accordance with the Student Body Constitution, national, state,local, and university laws.

There shall be a separate codification entitled Amended Student Body Budget which shallinclude the current fiscal year budget, all amendments including transfers pertaining tothe Biscayne Bay Campus, allocation from contingency accounts, University Widereserve accounts (accumulated cash balance account), Finance codes and the Finance
