A. Posting A Blog Entry
1.Click Site Admin > Write a New Post2.In the “Title” line, write a headline. Make your headline snappy and enticing.Remember, your title is displayed on our www.timesunion.comHome page andalso our blogs page athttp://blogs.timesunion.com/ 3.Write your entry.4.Add your entry to appropriate categories.4a. If there isn't an appropriate existing category, make a new one. Type in thename of the new category in the blank box under "Categories," and click “Add.”5. Type your entry in Post section. If you type in Word and want to paste into the Postsection, click on the Kitchen Sink icon to expand a second row of icons. You’ll see iconsthat clean up junk formatting code: Paste as Plain Text, Paste from Word, and RemoveFormattting.

 Click “Publish” when ready.6.If you want to edit or add to the entry later on, click "Edit" at the bottom of theentry, make desired changes, and click "Save.”7.You can always preview your post first before publishing it by clicking “PreviewThis Post.”
 
B. Hyperlinks (Make Sure You Are in the VISUAL Mode, NOT HTML)To add a hyperlink:
1.Copy the hyperlink you want to link to.2.Select the word, name, or phrase in your blog entry that you want to use as thehyperlink text. For example, in the sentence, "Click here for the Web site," youcan highlight the word "here" to make it a clickable link following the next steps.3.Click the hyperlink button in the toolbar. The “Insert/edit link” dialog box willappear.4.Paste the hyperlink in the “Link Url” line. In most cases, it should be preceded byhttp:// (this is already typed in for you by default, so be sure it only appears onceafter you paste. Correct: http://www.timesunion.com Wrong:http://http://www.timesunion.com)5.Click “Insert”6.The text should now be blue and underlined. If it is not already selected, select itagain, and click the Bold button in the toolbar. The link text should now be blue,underlined, and boldface. 
To remove a hyperlink:
1.Click anywhere on the linked text, or select the whole word or words that youwant to unlink.
 
2.Click the broken hyperlink button .3.The text should now be black no longer underlined.4.If the text is still boldfaced, remove the boldface by selecting the word or wordsand clicking the Bold icon .
C. Posting Photos.
(Be in VISUAL mode, NOT HTML this entire time)1.Save your photo either to your “My Pictures” folder within your “MyDocuments” folder most likely on your desktop or copy the URL of the picture’s website.2.We want you to post your picture after you’ve written your blog. Unlessyou’re a photoshop wiz, we advise you to post your photo in the blog and
then
resize it. This way you can control how you want to fit it and where.3.After writing your entry, look underneath the “Title” box on the right, go tothe section called “Add Media”.4.To add an image, click the first icon. A larger box will then pop up to displayyour options.5.The box that has appeared is your key to posting photos. Select the“Browse…” button where a “File Upload” screen will appear. Locate your saved picture and double click it.6.Now that you’ve got your picture’s location in the small box left of the“Browse…” button, click “Upload”.7.Your selected picture should now appear below along with its information.8.Scroll to the bottom of the box and click “Insert into Post” just above the“Save All Changes” button.9.Your photo should now appear in your blog. Since you have already typedyour entry, you now need to decide where to put the photo.
