I N T R O D U C T I O N 
One of the results of the process of globalization is the increase in migration inthe world. According to the United Nations figure there were 191 million migrantsin the world in 2006

.
Numbers
 
are increasing rapidly, from 82 millioninternational migrants in 1970 through 175 million in 2000 to nearly 200 milliontoday.
 
This is equivalent to the population of the fifth largest country-Brasil and 1in 35 people is an international migrant

.These facts show us that international migration will be one of the main issues of 21st century. Most developed countries face the problem of internationalmigration, because the majority of international immigrants live in developed partof the world.This paper will emphasise immigration problems in European Union that facesincreasing labour immigration in last decades (nearly 60 million immigrants live inEurope or 7.7% of Europe's population) and particularly the focus of paper will beillegal immigration that is one of the main problems in Europe today. According tosome estimates more than 500 000 illegal immigrants enter the Europe eachyear.
