So what. Those "oppressive" countries have high taxes that pay for university and health care, family leave, childcare and guaranteed living wages and vacations. But going bankrupt because you had surgery or having 100K in student loans--and a gov't that will garnish your Social Security to reimburse the lender!--that's oppressive. Oh, and those oppressive countries also don't have to worry about never retiring/working at WalMart until you die because they have safety nets for the elderly. You get what you pay for. Oh, and another big difference--those oppressive countries have a progressive taxe system, rather than the middle class bearing the burden for the super wealthy and super poor. But let's support our overlords! Serfdom, the new American Way!
