barbecue’s, hopefully both of which are com- plimented by a vacation or two along the way. But, before concentrating on those pleasant thoughts, let’s take a quick look back at how many of the outstand- ing sports programs at West Morris Central High School performed in post-season competition. The teams and individual’s below, along with all of the student-athlete’s who participated in sports through- out the school year deserve to be commended for their hard work and determination.

Flocktown-Kossmann School in Long Valley have once again worked together to create a ceramic tile wall mural based on a Space & Ocean theme appropriately named “A World of Possibilities”. They have dedi- cated the completed mural to the Flocktown-Kossmann School from the 5th Grade Class of 2009 as their 5th grade recognition project sponsored by the PTA. The mural was unveiled at the school art show this past week. This is the third mural that has been created and has proven to be a great artistic experience for the students while closely integrated with the science curriculum. Under the direction of Melinda
Hemberger of the Flocktown-Kossmann Art Department, each child created a design for their individual tile based on the space and ocean theme.
The designs were then transferred to a tile and carefully painted with under-glaze and then fired in the kiln. The tiles were then pulled together into the complete wall mural and installed into Flocktown School by Greg & Lisa Burns and Sundance Construction. The mural is ten feet wide and three feet high with 108 5th grade students contributing to the project. This is a unique “leave behind” project that the children will be proud of for years to come. The children are leaving behind a legacy that benefits
