1.0GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1.1The requirements, conditions, appendices etc. stated in Volume-I (GCC),Volume-IA(BPS), Volume-IIA(Specific Technical Requirements), Volume-IIB(Data Sheets) and project Synopsis and any other bid document shall apply toand shall be considered as a part of this specification as if bound together. Incase of any discrepancy between conditions specified in any other volume andthis volume, the requirements specified in this volume shall prevail.1.2All drawings, schedules and annexures appended to this specification shall formpart of the specification. These drawings are meant to give a general idea to thebidder. No information / data shown / not shown in these drawings shall beconstrued to relieve the contractor of his responsibility to carry out the work asper the specification. Bidder shall furnish he technical information and data asper Volume-IIB. Bids not furnishing the same are liable to be rejected.1.3The equipment / materials offered by the Bidder shall be complete in all respectsand whether called for specifically or not, all accessories, hardware and servicesrequired for normal satisfactory operation of the system shall be deemed to beincluded in the Contractor’s scope and cost of these shall be deemed to beincluded in unit rates quoted by the bidder. Also, design and manufacture shallbe such that equipment / accessories of the same type and rating would beinterchangeable.1.4Specific reference in this specification and documents to any material by tradename, make or catalogue number shall be construed as establishing standard of quality and performance and not as limiting competition. However, bidder mayoffer other similar equipment provide it meets the specified design andperformance requirements. Also all equipment / accessories offered shall beproven design and manufacture.1.5The contractor shall have a separate cleaning gang to clean all equipment under erection as well as the work area of the project site at regular intervals to thesatisfaction of the Engineer. In case the site cleaning is not to Engineer’ssatisfaction, he will have the right to carry out the cleaning operations andexpenditure incurred by the Engineer in this regard will be to the Contractor’saccount.1.6The Contractor shall provide adequate and capable supervision for electricalinstallation work under this contract. The staff provided shall be adequate toprovide detailed supervision at each stage of the work, in all areas, so that anyimprovements modifications required to meet site conditions / layouts is effectedin time.1.7It is not the intent of the specification to specify completely herein all details of design and / or installation. However, the design, instruction and / or installation.However, the design, instruction and / or installation work shall conform, in allrespects to the highest standard of engineering and workmanship and shall becapable of performing in continuos commercial operation upto the Contractor’sguarantee in a manner acceptable to the Engineer, who will be interpret themeaning of drawings and specification. The supply, installation, testing andcommissioning shall be carried out in accordance with Owner’s instructions andthis technical specification and / or applicable codes and standards includinglocal statutory requirements. All work shall be executed to the satisfaction of the
