The need for new challenges and for a change from desktopsystems to web-based and mobile-based applications made mego freelance and go to Kampala, Uganda. I met with some other Kenyan coders and registered a company, SimpleSoft Systems (U)LTD (SSS). SSS has had great success over the period, the top 3being :
 
DFCU Bank – SSS implemented a Network Management andMonitoring system (SimpleAdmin) to monitor the Routers, Servers,ATMs and UPSs and alert admins on errors and downtimes. Thesystem has a remote SMS administration interface that allowsDFCU IT staff to issue commands that manipulate, configure or even reboot the machines via SMS from anywhere. The systemgives DFCU Bank risk reports and network performance reports ofservers, hard disks space and network traffic and bandwidthutilization. The system was made using VB6SP6, SQL Server 2005and Crystal Reports 11.
 
DFCU Limited – Based on the success of the SimpleAdminProject, DFCU Limited contracted SSS to design and implementa Web Based system to manage the Legal Processes involved atDFCU Limited to manage client Contracts for Loans, Mortgages,POA and about 25 other contract types. The system savescontract details, client details etc on an online database andthey can be easily retrieved by authenticated users or admins.The System was made using PHP5 and MySQL 5.
 
UgandaDates™ Dating Website – SSS designed a website tooffer FREE and unlimited dating to Ugandans. The system is multi-user and has all the features of a dating website anddemonstrates our ability to develop a system that can handlemultiple user requests simultaneously. The system was made inPHP5 and MySQL 5.

Standard Investment Bank, Nairobi – Due to their expansionfrom Hazina Towers Branch to another Branch at ICEA, SIBneeded a well configured network that will streamline access totheir core Stock Brokerage system, Emails, File Servers andWindows Servers for DNS, DHCP and logon services.
