At a by-election, unlike normal elections, the spotlight will be on a single seat election only. The Labour Group will not now be able to hide from debating the ‘Serious issues we have tried to raise. Backed by the Independent Alliance, Allen Branley has notified the Council that he will reimburse the Council for the entire cost of the by-election. This ensures that you the Council Tax payer will not have to meet the costs. Allen Braniey can and will be standing again and has been endorsed by the Independent Alliance as their candidate in the Westoe ward by-election. It will be one Independent candidate taking on the whole of the Labour Party political machine. The issues on which the Independent Alliance will fight the campaign are simple: 1. Alleged fraud by elected members of the Council relating to their expenses. We have evidence of misuse of funds. We have been continually thwarted by Labour Party councillors and senior Officers of the Council in raising this at Council meetings and so no debate has taken place 2. Alleged collusion of senior officers of the Council in the cover up surrounding the theft of votes and ballot boxes in the Beacon & Bents Council election and their refusal to hold an independent. inquiry regarding the release of information 3. Financial mismanagement by the Cabi- net and senior officers of the Council 4, The deplorable conduct allowed in Council meetings.and the manage- ment style of the Council Leader Cllr lain Malcolm which promotes this behaviour Over several years, Allen Branley and the Independent Alliance have repeatedly asked for live video and audio coverage of Council meetings so that you the members of the public can see exactly what happens at these meetings. It’s hardly a surprise that this has been consistently opposed by the Labour councillors. Why? So you cannot see that they behave like school yard bullies. You may not have read much of this in our local newspaper whose coverage of all of our activities is a lot less than that of the Labour councillors.
