Are you a huge fan of twitter? Twitter has captured the general publics attention. In aninstant, it gained its market share being ranked in the 43rd spot of the most popular or visited sites online. As defined on the site, "Twitter is a free social networking andmicro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users' updates".From the past months that I observed the twitter trend, there is a big question that Ihave thought about. So what's with twitter? Why do people spend so much time infollowing other people? Do they get any benefits from having additional followerseveryday? Yes it allows twitter users to put links to their websites,but does it reallyprovide them traffic?If you spend 1 or 2 hours browsing twitter everyday, how much profit does it generatesfor your business? The answer is none. In fact, from the amount of time you devoteusing twitter, the more you may have missed opportunities. As you have heard frommotivational speakers and coaches, don't ever spend money or time on those thingsthat doesn't bring you any good. In twitter, lets, say you have 10000 followers. Do theyreally try to get updates from you? Did they spend sometime knowing you? Or did they just click the follow button and never returned to your page again?The Past is the past. What's done is done. You already have spent so many hours intwitter, what's next? The truth is, you don't really get popular in twitter. It is not amarketing strategy for promotions, it is an online trend. Why not instead of twitter,browse some websites that is somehow directly related to your website. Then analyzeif the owner could be a possible business partner for you. Or why not interact on socialcommunity site because it will give more opportunity for you to be known personally.From my years of existence online, I realized that if popularity is our concern, what weneed to do is to simply visit forums and mingle with people. In some way or another, italso opens new opportunities for us. You decide for yourself, what would you choose,twitter or business opportunities?Make use of your special time WISELY!
