Drug Interactions
Although mild and relativelyuncommon, interactions involvingover-the-counter drugs can produceunwanted results or make medicinesless effective. It's especially importantto know about drug interactions if you're taking prescription and over-the-counter drugs at the same time.Some drugs can also interact withfoods and beverages, as well as withhealth conditions such as diabetes,kidney disease, and high bloodpressure.Here are a few drug interactioncautions for some common over-the-counter ingredients:
Avoid alcohol if you are takingantihistamines, cough-coldproducts with the ingredientdextromethorphan, or drugs thattreat sleeplessness.
Do not use drugs that treatsleeplessness if you are takingprescription sedatives ortranquilizers.
Check with your doctor beforetaking products containingaspirin if you're taking aprescription blood thinner or if you have diabetes or gout.
Do not use laxatives when youhave stomach pain, nausea, orvomiting.
Unless directed by a doctor, donot use a nasal deconestant if

Ingredients:
6-ounce package raspberry-flavored gelatin
cups boiling water
16-ounce jar applesauce
10-ounce package frozen redraspberries in syrup, thawed
1/2 cup tiny marshmallows
to 2 tablespoons milk
1/4 cup dairy sour cream
cup star-shape gelatin mold
 
Directions:
1.
Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Letstand about 30 minutes to cool. Stir inthe applesauce and raspberries withtheir syrup. Pour into a 5- to 6-cupmold. Cover and chill in therefrigerator for 2 to 3 hours or untilfirm. Remove from mold.

For drizzle, in a small saucepancombine marshmallows and milk.Cook and stir over low heat untilmarshmallows are melted. Removefrom heat; let stand about 10 minutes.Stir in the sour cream.
3.
Place mixture in a clear plastic bag.Snip off a corner of the bag and drizzlethe mixture over the salad.
