ARTICLE I -- PURPOSE OF AGREEMENTThis AGREEMENT is entered into as of the 19
th
day of August, 2005, betweenthe University of Minnesota, hereinafter called the “employer,” and the MinnesotaTeamsters Public and Law Enforcement Employees Union, Local No. 320,hereinafter called the “union.” It is the intent and purpose of this agreement to:1.1 Assure sound and mutually beneficial working and economic relationshipsbetween the parties hereto;1.2 Establish procedures for the resolution of disputes concerningagreement’s interpretation and/or application; and1.3 Place in written form the parties' complete agreement upon terms andconditions of employment for the duration of this agreement.The employer and the union through this agreement shall continue theirdedication to the highest quality of public service to the University of Minnesota.Both parties recognize this agreement as a pledge of this dedication.The parties further recognize that this agreement is not intended to modify any ofthe discretionary authority vested in the Regents of the University of Minnesotaby Statutes of the State of Minnesota.The parties agree that this contract shall supersede the University of MinnesotaCivil Service Rules.ARTICLE II -- RECOGNITION2.1 The employer recognizes the union as the exclusive representative, underMinnesota Statutes, Section 179A.11, Subdivision 1, for all HumanResources who are assigned to the following job classifications, whoseemployment exceeds the lesser of fourteen (14) hours per week or thirtyfive percent (35%) of the normal work week and more than sixty seven(67) work days per year, but excluding students, managerial, supervisory,and confidential employees, and other employees excluded by MinnesotaStatutes 179A.01-179A.25.6031 Art Museum Preparator6038 Assistant Farm Animal Attendant6040 Assistant Gardener
