Intelligence could be defined as the general ability to learn, reason and to think abstract. Intelligence is the ability to be creative as well as the ability to survive in our own habitat. Intelligence could be viewed as what sets humansapart from other species as the intelligence of humanity surpasses animal intelligence. Intelligence is what gives usthe capability to acquire knowledge and to thrive in complex situations. What makes humanity the most intelligentof creatures? My theory is environment as animals do not get to obtain the skills which we acquire in school andinteractions with human beings as we learn from each other and living in general society helps we learn how to bemore intelligent people.It is my estimate that animals do not get this advantage and their brains are more designed for animalistic things i.e.hunting prey basic survival skill which is enough for their own environment. Apart of actually being intelligent is being able to function in their own environment as humans we need reading, writing etc. to thrive justas animalsneed their strong instincts to survive in the wild. Remember the story jungle book? About the boy who lived in the jungle imagine how low his IQ would have been? I believe the environmental factors, the human nurturing and alsosheer geneticsIs what makes humanity surpass animal intelligence as we are all created to thrive in our own environment?There are different types of intelligence including spatial, mathematical, verbal, musical and kinesthetic which proveoften underrated compared to general societies perception of true intelligence. Intelligence is something everyindividual possess nevertheless everyone is on different levels of the bell curve.Intelligence is generally measured by the controversial IQ testing though the testcan often prove to be biased. For example children in low socioeconomic receive a full 15 point boost when placed in upper to middle classenvironments. () IQ may also be proving to have a cultural bias for Asians and Westerners, Jews or Gentiles, meanand women etc.() It is known that whites tend to have higher IQ’s than black counterparts this is now thought of as being a resource related issue and not a race related issue.As a member of MENSA, someone like me will ever quite understand why does intelligence quotient much to someand virtually nothing to others? It is my estimate that IQ seems to bear such heavy weight because society, educatorsmay view intelligence as a measurement of one’s potential to succeed in life.
