uses its resources of knowledge skills and manpower (faculty and students) to create economic and social empowerment for the common good of the society. Economic empowerment results from wealth creation and increased employment and the knowledge and training of these shall be an outflow from the resource pool of UMT driven by its mission and vision. The concept has great intellectual resource potential as UMT has a thriving body of highly qualified faculty and spirited graduates and students.

Universities can play a monumental role in achieving a social transformation in societies. The Silicon Valley U.S.A. is a case in point. Institutional support from Stanford Universitys faculty and graduates with a sustained funding from the United States

Government and independent venture capital firms resulted in creating the phenomenal Information Technology wave that changed the entire world with its massive contribution to every sphere of our lives today. The Silicon Valley employs quarter of a million IT workers, is known to be one of the foremost centers of research and development in the world and has 21 Fortune 100 companies headquartered in it. All this was spurred by the active involvement of Stanford Universitys committed individuals. UMT seeks to serve as a catalyst to Pakistans economic growth on similar lines. We aim to move beyond the concept of University as an enterprise that educates and grooms students to be productive members of the society. In fact we wish to go a step further and become an enterprise for social change ourselves.
