SEN. CAMPBELL EARNS KEY ENDORSEMENTSFROM FOUR HAYS COUNTY ELECTED OFFICIALS
SAN ANTONIO
State Senator Donna Campbell earned four key endorsements fromHays County officials, including the sheriff and two county commissioners. Havingalready earned the endorsement of State Representative Jason Isaac (R-DrippingSprings), Donna Campbell can now count five elected officials in Hays County as keysupporters backing her campaign for re-election.In a letter signed by Hays County Commissioner Ray Whisenant (Precinct 4), HaysCounty Commissioner Mark Jones (Precinct 2), Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler, andHays County Constable Ron E. Hood, the four elected officials threw their whole-hearted support behind the incumbent senator.
“Senator Campbell has continued to display exceptional enthusiasm and dedicationgrounded in conservative principles,” the letter states. “She represents the ideals we
support, among them:
a return to God’s moral compass, fidelity to the Constitution
and founding principles it represents, smaller government, fiscal responsibility and
balanced budgets, free markets, personal responsibility and accountability.”
Sen. Campbell was elected to the Texas Senate last year with 66% of the vote, defeating incumbent Republican Jeff Wentworth in the primary and Democrat JohnCourage in the general election. It marked the first time in Texas history that achallenger knocked out the sitting state senator in a Republican primary.State senators are usually elected for four-year terms, but Campbell drew a two-year straw when senators held a post-redistricting drawing earlier this year. TheRepublican primary is scheduled for March 4.###
