!ntroduction"
,ne of $+ $ain concerns is that $ost Christian churches don*t hae er+ $uch Bible teaching. !o I hae tried to encourage $an+ to stud+ the Bible $ore and een begin ho$e group Bible studies. 'ecentl+ I hae had opportunities to share about $+ logical indent $ethod of for$atting !cripture with so$e leaders in a world2wide deno$ination and the+ thought it was good and could help the indicated Bible stud+ reial. In the last part of %ugust (4 I re2organied about 16 co$plete and partial Bible studies for $aking so$e &! 7ord files of Bible studies which could be used as 8springboards9 for  personal or group Bible studies. ope that +ou will en:o+ all that follows.
Note:The following is about a way I have been logically formatting Scripture since September 1977.  Many of my ible stu!y courses have it because it causes reasoning which helps for better retention. "fter rea!ing the !irections# try your favorite ible chapter. The man I learne! this  from even !i! his personal letters this way.
;roper Bible stud+ is so i$portant because it is the best wa+ to discoer <the $ind of Christ< =;hilippians (> or how Jesus Christ thinks. )hat is the wa+ to get to know Jesus Christ inti$atel+ which the %postle ;aul said in ;hilippians 3 is so i$portant. For +our e2$ail $inistr+ +ou can share an+ of $+ Bible studies =which are free for the asking> or een uses parts of the$ in counseling or for +our website. But if +ou want to deelop +our own inductie Bible studies or Bible stud+ tools  below are so$e adice fro$ $e.!tud+ing and using !cripture suggestions? First in responding to an+ Bible erse or !cripture passage +ou hear in a ser$on ski$ the erse or passage and then check the erses before and after  to $ake sure that was is being said reall+ relates to the erse @uoted. !o$eti$es after the ser$on and I a$ at $+ co$puter I will download an+ $eaningful ersesA passages and at least do the indent for$atting to the$ to understand better the logic of the$. If +ou are :ust t+ping !cripture without using Bible software to cop+paste fro$  be er+ careful and double and triple check what +ou hae written. ,ne letter $issing or one letter added can change the $eaning of a erse.

For each erse think? 8oes it :ust tell $e so$ething I beliee alread+ or does it indicate so$ething I should change in $+ life to be $ore Christ2likeD9 If it is the latter +ou should cop+ it onto a 3 E 5 card in +our own words in a co$$it$ent for$.Back in 14424 I learned to do a special logical for$atting. )he aboe and the below are sa$ples of it?)his $ethod of Bible stud+ will help the for$atter learn new understanding of God*s 7ord and can be used for inductie teaching for Bible stud+ discussion groups and for easier $e$oriing of !cripture.)his wa+ of writing !cripture can be done using an+ translation of the Bible  but please show respect in and capitalie the first letter of deit+ pronouns /arth =for God*s special planet> Christian and other words that indicate uni@ueness =like <Bible< and <%postle<>.)his will al$ost look sort of like the outline for$at with the erses or groups of erses that see$ to be of e@ual i$portance indented the sa$e positions fro$ the left of the page.% definite paragraph should hae a blank line aboe its first line. For producing inductie stud+ for a Bible chapter or passage? ownload the Bible chapter or passage into a &! 7ord docu$ent. )+pe the reference title aboe the first erse. ;ress the /nter ke+ and that is where the first erse nu$ber goes. If the erse nu$ber is one digit put a space in front of it. )hen press the space bar 6 ti$es. Be in the fra$e of $ind as ;roerbs 3?52# in order to be sensitie to the ol+ !pirit eter$ine how $uch of the first erse should be on the first line. &ost likel+ there will be a co$$a or se$i2colon at the end. In $ost cases +ou will want to get as $uch on each line as possible but an+ e@ual i$portant phrases usuall+ should be separate lines indented the sa$e positions fro$ the left of the page.Continue as this page indicates. ;hrases or erses which see$ to be :ust a clarification of a word in a preious erse $ost likel+ should be indented at least 4 spaces to the right co$pared to the preious line so that the neEt line can start as it is a continuation of the preious line. )hen so$eti$es I will bold orand underline i$portant erses or phrase orand I will insert thought prooking @uestions. For producing sub:ect studies? %fter I sense a need =fro$ the ol+ !pirit a ser$on a )- progra$ a conersation etc.> I use a Bible software to download erses using a ke+ word to search with. I usuall+ hae to such seeral ti$es using different tense for$s of a ke+ word and s+non+$s of that ke+ word. )he software I usuall+ use is fro$ the free e2!word downloads =usuall+ HJ- red letter edition> or fro$ the 0ock$an Foundation downloads of the %$plified and %!B Bibles. )wo other good sources for sub:ect stud+ erse references are the aes )opical Bible and )ho$pson Chain Bible 'eferences.
