Some of the Scripture about Christian Salvation(compiled and formatted by Bill Stevenson)
Note:Back in 1979,I knew a middle-aged, lifetime, conservative Baptist who was a typist for a Christiancurriculum development ministry, who that she was a born-again true Christian. But when shewas typing 1 John, she realized that she was not really saved. I also have read about churchelders who attended Billy Sunday meetings, realized that they were never spiritually born again since they were still selfish humanists instead of being disciples of Jesus Christ. Please consider all of the following:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you
the Gospel
which I preached unto you,which also you have
received
, and wherein you
stand
;
by which also you are saved
,
if you keep in memory what I preached unto you
,
unless you have believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received,
how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,and that He was buried,and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.
”
Romans 3:21-25 & 28
“But now
the righteousness of God
without the Law
is manifested
, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets;
Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christunto all and upon all them that believe.
For there is no difference:
for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
;
Being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Whom God had set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood,to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past
,
through the forbearance of God.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the Law.”
1 Corinthians 15:55-57“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the Law.
But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
”John 1:10-13“He [Jesus Christ] was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.He came unto His own [the Jews], and His own received Him not.
But as many as received Him, to them
gave He power to become the children of God, even to them who believe on His name
:
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh,nor of the will of man, but of God.
”John 3:3-7 & 16-18“Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Verily, verily, I say unto you,
except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God.
'Nicodemus said unto him, 'How can a man be born when he is old?can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?'
