kitsune no yomeiri
Kitsune = fox Yomeiri= wedding

Kitsune is often told to marry fellow kitsune. In Japanese, the rain that suddenly pour when the sky is sunny (hot showers) called kitsune no Yomeiri or "kitsune wedding". The term is derived from a legend that tells of the weather conditions during the kitsunes wedding ceremony. Kitsunes wedding event is considered as a good omen, but kitsune will be upset if uninvited guests come.

Kitsune is often called as a seducer in the story involving young men. Although the kitsune role as a seducer, the story usually romantic in nature. In the story, a man often married beautiful woman who was actually a fox. When the secret was exposed, his wife had to leave her husband. In some stories, the man who married kitsune felt like waking from a dream, confused, away from home, and had to go home with shame.

Hoshi no Tama
Kitsunes image and the victims are often include "star ball" (hoshi no tama), shaped like an onion. In fairy tales, balls which are covered by flame are called kitsune-bi (fox fire). In some stories, hoshi no tama has image as pearls or jewels with magical powers. Jewel was a symbol commonly found in Inari.

In Japan, people who have been obsessived by kitsune were regarded as a disease since the Heian period and was a common diagnosis for symptoms of mental illness until early in the 20th century. Possession is used as an explanation of the abnormal behavior of people. At the end of the 19th century, Dr. Shunichi Shimamura noted some symptoms of the disease caused fever often regarded as kitsunetsuki.

How sunshower occurs?

1. When the land has higher temperature than the air, the cumulus clouds formed 2. This condition can destabilize the atmospheres normal stratification, causing cumulus clouds to shoot upward quickly and produce rain in a short time.
