United Arts – Operational Project Grant
Program DescriptionEach year, the Organizational Project Grants (OPG) Program awards matching projectgrants to nonprofit cultural organizations of Central Florida to sustain ongoing projects,as well as to recognize and support imaginative and/or experimental ideas for arts,sciences, humanities and other cultural activities. This past year $265,000 was awardedto 30 arts and cultural organizations for fiscal year 2009. Orange County ACA – Cultural Tourism
Annual applications are due in the summer for projects which occur during the followingyear and that will attract patrons from more than 50 miles away (who will, potentially,stay in area hotels overnight). There is usually around $1.5 million dollars available. Thatmoney was split into three pools for large (up to $150,000 requests), medium (up to$75,000 requests) and small (up to $40,000 requests). Applicants must receive anaverage score of at least 80 points out of 100, except in the small request category wherea score of 75 is the eligibility threshold, after the high and low scores are removed, andthe rest averaged to be eligible for funding.
