adhere to Biosafety Level 3 protocolswhich should prevent accidental con

tamination of vaccines. The fact that
this contamination happened strongly
suggests that the contamination waseither due to gross negligence, or wasdeliberate.
Was the contamination sanctionedby management in the hope that the
contaminated vaccine would start a pandemic of avian inuenza,from which the company could then prot by producing vaccines
and other medications?
All indications point in that direction.
Journalist Jane Buergermeister has been researching the story and
