This book chronicles Jordan Schilit's high school running career. Jordan didn’t even make the varsity squad of his high school team as a freshman. However, by the time he graduated, he was a nationally ranked runner and had earned: one state championship, 2 individual state runner-up titles, and 2 team state runner-up titles in cross country and track. The point of this book is not to see how superstars could get better, but rather how ordinary freshmen runners, like Jordan, could eventually outdistance their rivals as a result of persistence, dedication, and a passion for running.
