Dispatch Calls and Response Time Data
January - August 2011-2013
 
All information was provided to Cheryl Schneider by the EPS as part of the formal complaint shefiled on September 24
th
. She requested through FOIP that certain information would be madeavailable to her concerning response times, criteria of priority levels and amount of dispatchedcalls city wide between the years 2011 and 2013.
 
The numbers are based on graphs provided and have been plotted to extract the data, thereforesome numbers are approximate.Please note
 –
A police 911 call may take up to 10 minutes to be evaluated before it is registeredinto the system. These response times do not include that time.
Priority 1 Call-High Priority in progress, Person at Risk
 
Target response time after dispatch <=7 min.
Criteria: An immediate response will likely prevent or reduce further harm to a person. These eventswill immediately be dispatched to the closest available units.

Target response time after dispatch <= 12 min.
Criteria: An immediate response will likely prevent or reduce the further loss of property. Theseevents will immediately be dispatched to the closest available unit.

Priority 3 Call- Event has Just Occurred,
 
Target response time after dispatch <=17 min
. (May take additional 30 min)
 
Criteria: An immediate response will increase the likelihood of locating a suspect. These calls will beaccessed on how long they have been outstanding and the relevant circumstances. Does not have tobe dispatched immediately but if not dispatched within 30 minutes, they will become themanagement responsibility
